Pathfinders are a worldwide organization of young people sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.  It is for boys and girls in grades 5-10, with an additional program called Teen Leadership Training for students in grades 10-12.

Pathfinders offer a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:

  • Encouragement of a growing, redemptive relationship with Jesus
  • Camping and survival skills
  • Grade-appropriate leadership training
  • Serving others through outreach activities
  • Interactive training in a variety of recreational, artistic, nature, conservation, vocational, and outreach areas, with awards (honors) given for completion
  • Education about the history and people who founded the Adventist church
  • Training for life in areas such as self-discipline, practical knowledge, work ethics, and social skills
  • Fellowship with peers at local, state, and international events and camporees

March 25-27, 2016, was the Dallas-East Texas Camporee held at Lone Star Camp in Athens, Texas.  All our hard work to learn lashings and how to tie cravats paid off. Our Pathfinders earned first place for our efforts!  It was inspiring to hear a 16-year old give the worship thoughts at the meetings, and even with our cold, very short nights, we had a great time.
